From what I heard the cost of doing that right now would be colossal so that's not happening anytime soon. Only the departments that joined in recently got APXes anyway, everybody else is still rockin' the XTS series radios and Spectras.Since you guys are local to me, (in the same state anyway) I figured I would ask the following.
Does anyone know if Michigan is going to move to Project 25 "PHASE II" any time soon?
I have an HP-1, and though it took me a long while to figure out how to set it up with a favorites list for just my area, I am really liking it. I am thinking about a second one so I don't have to keep taking it in and out of the house. I do not want to spend the money if PHASE II will soon kick in, and I would be forced to buy a new scanner anyway. ( I know the HP-2 will decode PHASE II)
Thoughts?
A lot of the Downriver system is encrypted, a lot of it is mixed.... adding another feed is unnecessary, unless its intent is to give reason for the rest of the users to join the others that are enrypted.
I'd say it's about 50/50 right now.
About half the comms are in the clear, and about half are not.
I don't listen as often as I used to, but when I do, seems like the bases are more often clear than not, and the mobiles are more often encrypted than not.
I have a downriver feed up ,,i probobly sound like crap but i'm giving it a shot
