Downtown Columbia Protest/Riots 5/30 & 5/31

I'm sure everyone is already aware about what is going on downtown tonight, but CPD Special Events is active due to Protesters rioting downtown. I've heard 5 CPD cars burned, multiple businesses vandalized, several officers injured. Mayor put a curfew in effect at 1800 tonight. CPD, RCSD, SLED, SCHP, BPS, Kershaw County SD, and LCSD are LEO's i've heard so far downtown.

Are all of those agencies operating on CPD Special Events Channel? I would assume they would use an LE Common tatlkgroup.

Yeah that is strange i was monitoring the state mutual aid and le common talkgroups wondering why i wasn't hearing anything. The cpd special events talkgroup is very active

Does anybody know if federal agencies are assisting becuase i just heard what sounded like a unit key up and say ATF unit xxx to city units.

They have still been using CPD Special Events but fortunately things have been much more civil. However I would not be surprised for activity to ramp up again this weekend. However I'm hopefully we get all this rain they are predicting!

Yeah I hope everything stays peaceful. I'm also hearing alot on BPS Dispatch. It's usually patched to schp troop 1 Sumter/Clarendon but it's not since the protests.

Yes, State House security is on BPS Dispatch.
