Did they say where on west 29th? They mentioned it was a 10 story crane, and I'm trying to imagine where on west 29th there is something that would require a 10 story crane.

Didn't hear exactly, maybe the news media will have it...

Metro officers enquiring if power has been activated to the crane - also stating cab of crane is 10-12 stories high

There's a parking lot right at 29th and valejo that is being ripped up as I recall. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a crane there.

If he is the job site crane operator it makes you wonder if he was just going up on the crane to watch the fireworks displays around the metro area. That would be a great place to watch from.

He just wanted a better view

(CBS4) DENVER A man was taken in to police custody late Tuesday night after officers said he tried to get a better view of the fireworks in downtown Denver by climbing a construction crane.

He climbed up the crane in the 2900 block of Vallejo during a thunderstorm.

The severe weather kept officers at bay. The man was on the crane for about 3 hours before police were able to coax him down.

Investigators suspected that alcohol may have been involved in the man's stunt.

(ABC 7News)DENVER -- A man was arrested Tuesday night after police said he climbed into a seven-story construction crane and refused police orders to come down.

Police said the man climbed up into the crane's cab located at 29th Avenue and and Vallejo Street at about 8:30 p.m. to watch fireworks shows.

More than a dozen officers and some negotiators were called to try and talk the man down.

The man crawled down from the crane a few hours later and surrendered to police.

The man was not immediately identified.
