DPD on Lakewood's System

For some reason, DPD (at least Dist. 1 and 4) are dispatching on Lakewood's system. I missed the reason, but heard someone say it would be for about 24 hours. Anyone know why?

I heard this too briefly on Denver's Dispatch 4, dispatcher didn't give a reason and unknown on what talkgroups.

Does anyone know if the RR database for Lakewood is correct/accurate ?

Well that's just wierd! I have never monitored any 01-xxx on Lakewood. 210 = 01-102 & 213 = 01-105.

Lakewood dispatch is done by North, South & West. L-Tac 4 is 292.

I was able to find Denver Dispatch 4 on Lakewood talkgroup 213 = 01-105 and Denver Distpatch 1 on Lakewood talkgroup 210 = 01-102.

I don't know what the official designations are for these 2 talkgroups, anyone else know ?

I haven't heard why Denver was on Lakewood's system, but I can confirm that Denver's Dist 1 and Dist 4 are back to normal operations on their respective Denver talkgroups.

So it was probably some kind of test. This is just a pure guess, but possibly they were practicing for when the re-banding starts. Denver and other agencies will have to take a temporary capacity hit when they proceed with changing frequencies. They can only take some channels out of service for a while when they retune. It will have to be done in at least two stages.

So MAYBE (I shouldn't just speculate) they are planning on having these two districts be off the main system during the reduced capacity time.

But the officers I heard were surely not happy because they could not use i-call thru the patch.

If anything it's Lakewood that is running out of money in there cities budget, especially with the cities managers spending habits, so maybe there looking to Denver for help rather than the other way around.

This does make sense, guess we will see when it happens.
