DENVER - Police say multiple officers shot and killed a man Saturday night who refused to drop a weapon.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at 5553 North Dillon St.
Denver Police received a call that the man had a knife and was threatening to cut himself. The man wasn't home when police arrived, but he returned a short time later with a weapon. It is not immediately clear what weapon the man had.
After asking the man to drop the weapon several times, police officers used first non-lethal force, and then fired. It is not clear where the bullets hit on the man's body.
The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Aurora South.
A group of bystanders, including a half-dozen children, had to be taken from the area following the shooting.
