Can anyone explain the letter on the end of the DPD Unit IDs? For example 353Baker?

Here is what I found on this site from 2007: http://forums.radioreference.com/colorado-radio-discussion-forum/88406-denver-pd-unit-ids.html

With Bills(Scan-Denver) Permission here you go Jfab

Patrol units are designated by three digits, the first digit being the district number.
For Powershift units (units with two officers) add a 5 to the 2nd digit(ie instead of 616, it is 666.
Any single number (i.e. Command 1) is a district captain
Any number ending in a double zero (i.e 100) is a district lieutenant
Any number ending in ten (i.e. 110) is a sergeant
Numbers from 700-899 are used by Traffic Control or other specialized units

Adam # - Administration
Adam 1 - Mayor
Adam 2 - Manager of Public Safety
Adam 3 - Chief of Police
Baker - Support Services
Charlie - Delinquency Control Division
David - District Attorney's Office
Henry - Parking Violations Bureau
Ida - Intelligence Bureau
King - K-9 Unit (Division of SWAT)
Metro - SWAT
Nora - Colorado National Guard
Post - Downtown Foot and/or Motorcycle Units
Robert - Reserve Police Officer
Tac - Gang Unit
Tom - Traffic Investagators
Union - Detectives (Crimes Against Persons Division)
Victor - Negotiator - Special Support Unit (SWAT)

Yankee ## - Crime Lab Unit
Zebra - Vice Bureau

I haven't been monitoring for a long time because I just plain can't afford it and there's too much encryption BS.

I thought the Baker etc. also was shift the officer was on.

I believe the 2nd digit designates the shift:

#1# & #2# = Days (i.e. 512A, 423B, etc)
#3# & #4# = Swings (i.e. 532A, 443B, etc)
#5# & #6# = Graves (i.e. 552A, 463B, etc)

If the 2nd digit is 7,8, or 9 it's usually a unit with a special shift (i.e. SROs).

I suspect the reason they have 2 #s for each shift is either because there are more than 10 sectors (i.e. last digit) or the odds are the officers who work Mon-Wed and the evens are the ones who work Wed-Sun.

As for the letters in the designators:
A & B may just be if there is more than one officer working the sector. (If not the Baker might mean it's a two-man car). If the letter is a "s" I think it means the officer is a corporal.
