Using an 11 year old Kenwood GM-707. I do not believe it supports DPL Tones. I have seen some conversion tables, or whatever they would be called. But I am wanting to program the ham channel for Watonga: 442.375. It has a DPL Tone of 223, but I can't set that up.

So, am I just basically SOL and need to upgrade, or is there a trick I should know about?

Thank you,
Don Manning

You need to upgrade if the radio you have does not support DPL.

DPL is a digital code, not a tone, so there isn't any way to trick your radio into working with it, especially on the TX side.

On the RX side, you can just run carrier squelch and it'll pick up whatever is there.

According to the manual, that radio only does CTCSS and not DCS. You'd be better off buying a different radio.
