Short version....found a BC785D with P25 card in a Killeen pawn shop over the weekend. Have had it on all day back home in Dallas with the 23 or freq. listed in the RR DB! Only twice have I heard the dispatcher, not long enough to set the audio quality settings. If this is normal for DPS traffic now, with MDT's and all, I probably am not missing anything. Either tell me there is usually much more traffic, or offer me $175 for the scanner...

thanks

Since they have gone to Computer's DPS have been much quieter. However, Dallas (Garland) DPS are pretty busy in the Morning's and evening's and On Friday and Saturday. $175.00 with the Card, good buy! And you have all the frequencies including the individual repeaters? you should get some good hits. An outdoor antenna might help a bundle, if that's possible for you.

Don't sell it. It will listen to more than DPS.

They have been muchmore quiet with the MDTs BUT occasionally (as you can read further back in the Texas forums) the MDTs or the TCIC gets fouled up and DPS explodes with troopers running DLs/LPs.

As Max said there are definitely some peak times to listen, and you'll just have to keep listening. I used to complain about listening for months and never hearing a vehicle pursuit on DPS (when everywhere else in the state they were weekly occurences). In the past two weeks I have heard two of them though- it just took some patience.
