You would need to tell us who manufactured the cable. If they don't list the web site in your instructions, someone can probably tell you where to get it. You must load the driver 1st before plugging in your scanner.

it works on the other computer, just not on my laptop. i'll just use the puter in other room. scanner master sent the usb cable for a gre 500. thanks

also you will probable need to match up with the comport on the each computer you want to run it off of. comports wil be different that is.
