Anyone try one of these? I ordered one in a box form:
Smart TV Box GV 25 Android 4 1 Mini PC 1 6GHz 1GB 8GB Dual Core 1080p | eBay
Also available in a stick form:
Amazon.com: MK808 Dual Core Android 4.1 TV BOX Rockchip RK3066 Cortex-A9 Mini PC Smart TV Stick: Computers & Accessories
Youtube video:
Android Mini PC MK808 With Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1 - YouTube
This device basically turns your TV into one big Smart Phone (minus the cell phone)
I have only used it for a couple hours, the unit I received is setup for the Asian market. So far I have been very pleased with it. I am able to run Scanner Radio in the background and watch youtube videos at the same time (although full screen was not working for some reason), Chrome seems to work well, with large easily readable fonts and speeds seem faster than my old netbook.
Not all the apps I have tried work, and some work without full functionality, example Google Maps I am unable to zoom in and out, there may be a workaround that I have not figured out yet. Basic games that I have tried like Angry Birds work fine. I plugged a usb mouse into the usb port and it works way easier to navigate than with the included remote.
For a little less than what I paid for my Roku2, this device has way more features, I think it may be perfect if you have a need for web browsing in a spare room with a dumb tv, or maybe setup for a relative for skype.
