Just asking for a friend, Any coincidence these are from the Disney Cruise ship christening in NY Harbor last evening? Just throwing that out there.

Fair game question. Unlikely IMHO. I have seen TV w Disney displays over ship, very bright and down low. Down low and likely not visible from 20-30 or more miles away. Also the Disney show may not venture far beyond ship.

For two nights what is being see are LARGE UAV’s, not the hobbyists version. Travel low to N NW to Morris County. Quite some distance from the Harbor.

Like 55lbs and above and of various designs and capable of flight for hours and capable of long range.

That takes lots of money and training and (licensing) and requires many flight (rules).

probably scouting the trump property for the future . checking response from agency's. need to get the CAP back up now start shooing them down. those drones that are used in Ukraine are deadly. but I'm sure the feds already thought of this..............................right?

From what I heard last night, the drones have lights on the bottom of the wings, but nothing on top, which is also why the helicopters are having a hard time trying to spot them.

Talked to a LE counterpart and he said they are NOT your typical hobbyist type. I'm not a drone guy, but reading up on it under Part 107 they can only be flown 30 minutes after sunset or in twilight if your drone has anti-collision lighting. Any change from that to allow for operating at "night" with lighting ?
