I would think you would set up on USB, and use a wide bandwidth, not narrow. USB is, in general, used on many non-ham digital modes.
Are you seeing a signal on a display that isn't decoding? Depending on what radio you are using, you might have to offset your tuning by 1.5 khz (or so) to present the correct tones to the decoder. This is a common issue.
