Just want to make sure that you fixed your tap first. Putting a capacitor into the mix without fixing the tap will not improve things.

totally flippin right now, i got an sb live but i cannot for the life of me stop it from looping back (i.e line in playing through audio out) drivin me nuts

You need to go into the volume controls and mute everything but Wave Out, some call it PCM Out or just PCM.

cant get er rippin with 1 card, somethin ****y with the loopback issue i cant get rid of it without totally muting all my sound.
