I've been running DSD+ fastlane for a few weeks as a police/fire scanner. First I run FMP24-CC.bat & then 1R.bat. All of a sudden I now get this when running 1R.bat:
DSD+ 2.256
Program role is single-receiver control/rest/traffic channel decoder
2020.09.19 6:34:38 Adding NAC/RAN/DCC/RAS data to event log file entries
2020.09.19 6:34:38 Writing synthesized audio to per-call wav files
2020.09.19 6:34:38 Appending synthesized audio to file '1R-DSDPlus.wav'
2020.09.19 6:34:38 Current working directory is "C:\DSDPlus"

2020.09.19 6:34:38 Assuming FMPA/FMPP/FMP24 is signal source; auto polarity detect is disabled

2020.09.19 6:34:38 audio output device #1 = 'Speakers/Headphones (Realtek(R)'
2020.09.19 6:34:38 audio output device #2 = 'CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual C'
2020.09.19 6:34:38 audio output device #3 = 'Speakers (NoMachine Microphone '

2020.09.19 6:34:38 audio output device open failed

I'm simply listening over my computer speakers - WELL, NOT NOW! I'm not using VB cable or NoMachine...how can this be edited out & how can I once again listen to my scanner?

any suggestions?

thanks all!!!

What is the output in your DSDPlus batch file (1r)? It should have -o1 in it to point to the speakers.

Thanks Chris, I just plopped it in there & away we went again! I have no recollection of ever changing/deleting that.

You are recording per call .wav files, and logging all sythesized audio to another .wav file. That could be unnecessary flogging of the HD that DSD is performing.

at a minimum I usually encourage people to pass -O NUL to DSD (or turn it off via the menus, easier for some) to prevent everything from going into what will be a GIANT .wav file (and consequently taking up massive HD space in backups, etc) if you are not using that file for offline audio decoding or anything. There are reports of people on here with multigigabyte .wav files that they didn't even know they were making, and had dozens of backups of them...eating drive space. Microsoft .wav files are not very friendly when it comes to size, and get unwieldly large very quickly.
