Not fishing for anything proprietary but someone suggested that after deleting said file that decoding of P25 Trunked calls worked like a charm. I deleted mine and it started working also. Given that, I wonder if deletion of that file on a routine basis at start-up time has any unintended consequences that I may not be aware of. Also, if this is a known issue (who knows - maybe coincidence that it just started working after deletion) is it possible to include deletion of that file as part of the *.exe start-up process at the code level instead of through my batch file process(s)?

From Fastlane Notes.txt file -

DSDPlus.bin

A binary / non-editable configuration file has been added to DSD+.

Changes to the following parameters are stored in DSDPlus.bin:

Listen threshold (T/t)
Invert polarity (P)
Voice call start alert (V)
Show/hide background events (B)

Console window:

initial minimized/restored state

Source audio window:

location
size
high contrast mode (H)
minimized/restored state

Channel activity window:

location
text size
high contrast mode (H)
minimized/restored state

Event log window:

location
size
text size
high contrast mode (H)
minimized/restored state

Separate copies of parameters are stored for:

DSD+

CC DSD+ (-rc)

VC DSD+ (-rv)

Each unique instance (-F<num>) of DSD+, CC DSD+ and VC DSD+

Command line entries override DSDPlus.bin file entries.

Command line entries are not saved to DSDPlus.bin; only user-initiated adjustments
that are made while DSD+ is running are saved to DSDPlus.bin (exception: -_<num>)

Thanks. Looks like it isn't recreated on the fly and is part of the non-FastLane install. What is: Listen threshold (T/t)? Other than that, it looks like deleting it should be OK. Have been running most of the afternoon and into the evening with no profound ill effects. Yet.

Then you need to delete some more stuff LOL....

In the time it took him to write his two posts asking about DSDPlus.bin, he could've read the Notes.txt file twice over! :cautious:

I see it is part of the 2.155 DSD+ download and the reference to the file is buried about 80% of the way down in the Notes.txt file in much older version information. I have found that not everything is in the manuals and sometimes newest information, understandably, is in the ? key documentation at run-time. With geniuses like you guys available it was quicker to ask the dumb question.

The updates to the software are cumulative. Updates to the documentation, not so much.

I too have issues with not knowing about features in new releases. I guess I will need to sit under a tree with a jug of coffee and read the notes in the future.

I was not even aware of "Notes.txt" ! So thanks to the forum members who help, albeit it being frustrating to them at times!

A "Whatsnew.txt" would be nice. But hey, I am just lazy! And I get that that is what "Notes.txt" file is for now...

A while ago I edited the various release notes and online tips into my dsdplus.txt file. I need to do it again.
