Hi Chris, I already have DSD plus working well. I am adding the fast lane feature which is what I am trying to setup.
Thanks again

Fast lane has stuff that is not in the public version. Every time a new version is released, I create and print the help file and then rename it with the version. There are several ways to do it but I use:

dsdplus -h >dsdplus_help.txt

and then:

FMP -h FMP_help.txt

Off the top of my head, you change your FMP batch file to make the output a port number. You can use any available port from 256-65535.
Then you edit your DSDPlus batch file to match that port number on the input.
Repeat for the voice channel with a different port if you are doing trunktracking.

From Chris's note it appears I can use TCP link, where can I find info on setting that up?
Hm, with FMP, it's FMP -o<port> and with DSD+, it's DSDplus -i<[addr:]port>, so if FMP and DSD+ are running on the same PC, something like:

FMP -o50000

DSDPlus -i50000

If they're separate PCs on the same LAN, and FMP is running on a PC that uses address 192.168.1.33:

FMP -o50000

DSDPlus -i192.168.1.33:50000

Any issues with firewalls or routers will also have to be dealt with.

Hello Chris and others. are any of you running the fast lane and would be able to help me with the setup. I am having trouble getting things working and could use some help from someone that can help me tweak the settings. I can call most any time day or night.
Thanks for any help, Scott

I don't do phone support but there are some very knowledgeable users online here. If you post what is happening or not happening, how you start the program (command line or batch file) and what you are typing or running to start the program, someone will likely be able to help.
Don't be afraid to experiment with various parameters. Changing settings to improve and customize how the program runs will allow you to learn to make it best for you.

Hi Chris, thanks for the note. I have many questions so don't know if you would prefer to take this offline so we don't clog up this forum. First off, I have not been able to find any install instructions. I saw several notes to read the notes which I have but each section I have here does not cover the basic setup. I have downloaded the virtual audio cables and drivers. I have run fmp.cc and it says invalid wave out device # specified. When watching the u tube video he mentions adding or changing the line to list correct # but have not found out that specific #. I have also tried to run fmp.exe and I get black box to pop up and it then disappears within 5 seconds each time I bring it up. We can start with these ? if you are able to give any ideas that might get me started and see where we go from there. Thanks again, Scott

I would suggest working on getting DSDPlus working with basic settings before you try trunking. Also you haven't said what version of DSDPlus you are using and what radio(s) you are using.

Print or view the help file. You can create a short batch file by putting the following into 2 notepad documents and saving as "Create FMP Help.bat" or "Create DSDPlus Help.bat"
FMP -h >FMP_help.txt
dsdplus -h >DSDPlus_help.txt

Assuming you are using the public release and not Fast Lane, you will need to know which input and output device the virtual cable is assigned to. When you start FMP, the screen that you see the info start appearing has that. Look for something like:

audio input device #1 = 'rear input(soundmax)"
audio input device #2 - CABLE Output (VB Audio Virtual Cable)

audio output device #1 = 'Speakers"
audio output device #2 = 'CABLE input (VB Audio - Virtual Cable)'

It then lists the options you have selected (if it gets that far)

This where you can get the info from for your batch file

Hi Chris, I am running dsd plus 101 with the fast lane. When I open just the dsd plus it is version 1.74 I am hooked to a uniden bc 780xlt. Running the DSD plus it works just fine. I was able to see audio in as # 1 line in and # 2 cable output VB audio virtual on the output side it shows device # 1 as speakers and # 2 as cable input VB audio virtual. I do not have a file called help in the folder .
I have the dsd folder open and have tried running FMP.exe several times both normal and administrator and each time I get a security msg asking if I want to run and I click run and each time the small black box pops up for about 5 seconds and then it disapears.
Thoughts?

I get the impression that you are not editing the batch files or creating your own. I had explained in the second paragraph of my previous reply how to create a batch file for making the help file. That gives you the help file and lets you try making a batch file.

With the newer versions of Fast lane, you do not need to use the Virtual Cables. Also, you can still use the newest versions with the scanner if you wish, it is simply a matter of setting the inputs up correctly. You don't mention having SDR dongles, if you wish to try the trunktracking, it is by far the easiest way.

In the newer versions, the format of the commands has changed. You can look at the following two batch files to see an example of the differences with the newest format

(old) FMP 20001 1 21.7 935.0
(new) FMP -i1 -o20001 -P21.7 -f935.0000

The latest version allows you to define inputs and outputs by the -i & -o rather than having them in a certain position within the file.

With a scanner, you don't use FMP but simply use the -i(input number) format in DSDPlus to get the signal to the program.
