anyone know why DSD+ records these "Zero" hit count groups in the log file? This is a snip from the Florida Power log ....

just curious why several TGs get "logged" without having any hits.... ??

TIA

That happens all the time when the decoding has errors in it (for me) and decodes to a bad TGID w/o traffic. When the SNR goes to s**t, the decoding efficacy drops off, and the amount of bogus TGIDs skyrockets.

i would buy that.

but

in the example above... every single one of those TGs with "0" hit counts....

are completely legit / in use talkgroups on this system ---- just >NOT ON THIS SITE< (LOL)

if these were whacked out #s / garbage... I'd buy SNR 100% - but I don't think that's the case in this instance

Ah, didn't know they were legit(not bogus) on that system. Decoding errors on the affiliation requests must be what was creating my issue, affiliation request is garbled & I get pages full of 0 count TGIDs that don't fit the system plan.

the local system I monitor is laid out in clearly identifiable blocks, so numbers that don't make sense stick out. My experience was related to losing the aerial (due to my mistake) and the decoding rate tanked, and I had hundreds of TGIDs that all had 0 counts instead of the 60 that have been dutifully logged in the last year.

separate issues then, sorry!
