DSD+ - No Audio output On SDR

Hi this is my first post so be nice and understanding.
I have installed SDR sharp on my laptop running windows 10 on this laptop I have SDR Sharp running fine on analogue channels so have decided to install the digital software to listen to DMR stations, this is where the problem starts.
I have followed the instructions from the video on YouTube by Tech Minds the link is:

When I tune to a digital frequency and start DSD I get the 4 boxes pop up and something is being decided ie talk groups slots etc but I get No sound, I have tried to change the outputs and inputs but with little joy.

1) that's a 2 year old video. Programs have changed slightly.
2) Are you using the free DSD+ or the paid Fastlane version of DSD+? You are using the free version of the program, it's capabilities are limited.
3) What type of systems are you attempting to monitor? Nvm, I can't read. DMR.
4) Using SDR# can be just another layer of complexity for a new user, as it will invariably require things like virtual audio cables and the like. If the system you are trying to decode cannot be done by the free version of DSD+, you will have to pay for the DSD+ which will then give you access to optimized front end programs (the entire program that replaces SDR# & plugins) like FMP24 - which works much better.

Start DSD+ without SDR# on the DMR channel. What audio device does DSD+ say it's sending audio to?

I have gone into the VB cable settings and ticked the allow to listen box on this, just have to wait to hear

Yeah, you have it outputting to VB Cable. Why? How'd that happen?

Save yourself some grief - if you have to use SDR# set the audio to VB Cable and do not use the plugin which does not work. Then start DSD+ properly with a batch file. It will at least work but is not a great use for DSD+ = it is very limited for functionality.

Make sure in Windows your default devices in sound are correct - main speaker default in playback and VB Cable in recording.

Use something like this

DSDPlus.exe -fa -e -m1 -g0 -OM NUL

if you have fastlane,

take out the -m1 if you are using the public version

Notice there is no -o DSD+ figures that out.
