You can adjust the recording level. What is the "inlvl" number reported by the program?

This also doesn't say anything about what he's trying to decode- it could be a P25 or DMR signal coming in through his sound card as inverted.

As Rick mentioned, does your Inlvl in DSD show? I try to stick around an Inlvl of 30, give or take a few. His recommendation may be different.

If you're trying to monitor TRBO, try adding the -xr switch to flip polarity.

What are you using for source audio?

  • Speaker jack output?
  • A verified working discriminator tap?
  • SDR Software?

The title of this thread is misleading. In fact, DSD is working. It requires some adjustments, as noted above.

Didnt know thats why im asking questions. Im using a alinco dj-x11 wide band receiver with the headphone jack output. The inlvl doesn't show up anywhere when the program starts up. I've looked around for some instructions with no such luck.

1. You must be using baseband / discriminator audio. Any audio coming out of the headphone jack is not going to work

2. According to the manual:

Code:
The received data will be output from the data signal output terminal of
the 3-pole stereo mini-plug (P. 98).

So make sure you're feeding the proper signal out from the 3-pole plug to the soundcard. If you're sing a standard two-pole plug, you can't output the proper discriminator signal. If you do have a proper 3-pole plug, you need to make sure your wiring is feeding the 3rd pole (see Page 98 of the manual) audio signal into the soundcard.

On page 76 the manual talks about using the menu to set DET OUT to ENABLE:

Code:
1 Rotate the upper dial to select
“DET out”.

2 Rotate the lower dial to select
“Disable” or “enable”.

When "enable" is selected, the sound of the main band is not output.

2. You say the screen starts showing code when you hear things -- In that "code" that scrolls down the screen is an item called Inlvl, listed on each decoding line

Bottom line:
  • make sure you have it set up to deliver discriminator audio out (DET Out ENABLED"
  • make sure you're feeding signal from the proper pin on the minuplug into your soundcard
