I have a Fastlane sub. I also have an RSP2. So I know that Fl can control the receiver for trunking. Cool.
The big mystery is the guy with a receiver with discriminator out or an SDR running through one of the many applications that supports them is.
For voice decoding only what IS the difference from DSD+ standalone (free) versus paid?
I know we get an .exe file and sometimes a few extras in the updates. What about the average Joe used to the various sound card decoders who runs DSD+ and is savvy enough to enter voice channels and identify different voice channels into a stand alone receiver with scanning capabilities.
Take for instance my IC-R8600 or IC-R8500, RSP2. If a person with DSD+ free sits on a voice channel that becomes active, will it decode any different than Fastalne?
I'm in the process of working a feature request for one of the popular SDR applications to provide integration of a functional and customizable lookup table to insert various CAT control hex values to mimic or enable trunking of any receiver that uses it. To allow using different radios than the RTL based and SDRPlay that DSD+ locks you into.
Does this make sense?
