Hi everyone, im having a nightmare getting dsd+ to work, it seems it wont connect over tcp as apparently my machine is refusing the connection.
i get the error: initiating TCP connection to 127.0.0.1:20001
TCP connect error = 10061
no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
using windows 10 sdr# with vb audio cable.

pulling my hair out now lol any help gratefully received

Thanks in advace

How about specifying what version of DSDPlus you are using. 99 out of 100 people who have problems never both to tell anybody what version of DSDPlus they are using. Are you using free DSDPlus off of www.dsdplus.com? Or are you using DSDPlus Fast Lane ?

This has been discussed countless times on the forum. On the DSDPlus Window, use the menu system (mouse click on appropriate items)

1. MISC - Enable Keyboard Commands (because you are probably used to them from using the old version)
2. CONTROL - Select Passive Digital Monitor
3. INPUT - select your VB cable input

You may have to make the changes, properly exit, and then start it back up again.

The question should be why are you using VB Cable?

I've spent 3 hours trying to figure out what tcp linking is. So far it looks like some dos file editing. I have no idea how to figure out what port my airspy mini dongle is on and then to figure out which file to edit so an application can know what to do. I was looking into figuring out how to use fmpa but it takes reading a book to make any use of it. All I need is a gui that gives me accurate info without all the bugs. I went back to troubleshooting why sdrsharp dsdplus plugin doesn't work with my new fastlane version.

all I figured out how to do using fmpa was to mute it.

After editing the FMPA.cfg file to add your Airspy serial number, all you have to do is run the FMPA-CC.bat file and the 1R.bat file. TCP linking DONE.

Yeah it magically happened and you said that last night but you're speaking hebrew hedoo thingy language. I figured out how to target the frequency in a file. But I don't see any decoding going on or hear anything from my av receiver #1.

Well, your Airspy doesn't see any signal. What's that all about?

Good question and I didn't even notice I didn't have a signal. It was working fine using sdrsharp. I wasn't sure if I chose the proper antenna. It should be but I'm not certain. Just another day of troubleshooting.
ADSB Magnetic Mount Antenna Also works well for 700/800/900 MHz signals ADSB Magnetic Mount Antenna – Airspy.US

I got to clicking around and found no audio monitoring was clicked. I changed it to no sync and signal present. I hear audio and it seems to act like a squelch.

To trouble shoot FMPx a screen grab of the FMPx spectrum TUNED to a signal would be useful.

If you see there is a signal tuned and it is a legit trunk system and you are on the CC with FMPx - then simply launch (run, click on) the 1R.bat file. TCP linking DONE.

You should now be listening to DSD+ decoded digital frequencies being followed by FMPx (assumes you have not fritzed either of the batch files.)

If it helps, if you did what it says above you should see something like the screen gab.
lazy.PNG

Because I am lazy I made my 2 batch files into 1.

it looks like this - I called it LAZY.bat

start FMP24 -i2 -o20002 -f452.2625 -b12.5 -P0 -q1 -g37.2 -_1 -wsl000.00
start DSDPlus -F1 -r1 -e -m1 -i20002 -OM NUL

I did spend time populating my siteloader file with every analog/digital signal I can find in my earshot.

When I popup the siteloader list I can select any site I have in it to monitor... be it clear AM/FM, single digital, or any kind of trunking signal DSD+ can decode.

Without changing anything! (LAZY at its finest) :)

I also maintain a scanlist, by pressing "s" on the FMPx spectrum it scans my list - hit esc to resume normal operation.

I also have 3 more dongles I can deploy if I want to do multi monitoring.

How could it get any better he asks rhetorically :)

I tinkered around in the fmpa command file learning the Command line parameters and active keys summary: Like learning dos all over again. The area all the activity is from 461.5250 to 463.2250. Or least that is what the scanner reports. I found a rest channel in that area with nothing but errors. 463.200000 gives me some decoding and its the same as when I was using sdrsharp. Why do you input a target number -.75 of where the actual activity is? dial in 463.200000 but the spiking happens at 463.95.

You have far too much IF gain. Instead, I would go with more mixer, maybe more LNA.

463.95 isn't where you're tuned nor is it where any signal is. You're tuned to 463.2 and that's where the signal is.

Yes, the white line to the left is the target freq but all the action is in the bandwidth area in the middle of the spectrum. I scroll through the spectrum and when I see a green bubble I look it over for a dmr signal. Everyone that uses the talkgroups have gone home for the weekend. Dump truck drivers, taxi and bus drivers. I won't know anything until they go back to work if any changes I made helped. Its silent.
