Hi there,
I have a Uniden BCT-8 scanner hooked up to the computer using a discriminator output to the microphone input.
DSDPlus Faslane is decoding the signals perfectly.
My only issue is that I also have 2 RTL Dongles connected to the computer.
If I disconnect the dongles Fastlane will not start up or if it is operating with the scanner it stops working.
How do I configure DSDPlus Faslane to start up on just the scanner with no dongles connected.
Thanks.

What version of Fastlane are you running and how are you starting it? I regularly open a Dsd window without an available dongle by using a .bat file .

1r3.bat
DSDPlus -F2 -r1 -e -T -E -Pwav -i20003

Hi there, I start it by opening fmp24-cc, then ccbat, then fmp24-vc and then vc bat
I then go into the cc event window and change the input to microphone to allow dsd to decode the scanner input.

I am using fastlane version 2p303. where is the 1r3.bat file located?

FMP24 is the program for the dongles. Don't run them until you get your scanner decoding properly. I am assuming you are trying to monitor a trunk system and you are aware the scanner sits on the control channel and doesn't scan.
Set the scanner on hold on the desired frequency. Start DSDPlus with the CC.bat. Change the input to microphone. You should see the decoded traffic on the screen. Once you see that, you can start FMP24-vc and then VC.bat
If you don't see traffic, you need to verify the output is good on the radio, post your bat files, etc.

Yeah, no point running FMP24 if you're going to get the signal from a tapped radio.

You create the batch file yourself by using Notepad.

Contents would be something like:

DSDPlus -F2 -e -T -E -Pwav

Save it as something like "BCT8.bat" (with the quote marks)

Run the new batch file, then in DSD+, change the monitoring mode to Passive Digital Monitor, then set the Input to the microphone.

Thanks Chris for the detailed answer. I have attempted what you say and I am very vey close.
I open CC.bat and I change the input to microphone with the scanner set to a control channel.
All is good and I can see DSDPlus decoding the traffic on the screen.
But then I go to FMP24-vc and when I try to open it I get an error message saying no rtl dongles detected.
Do I need to change something in my fmp-vc.BAT FILE.
I know this is a minor issue now.
Thanks again hris for your help.
Regards, Baden

What are exactly are you trying to do? Decode with your scanner ( discriminator ) or with fmp24?

I'm running a discriminator tap from the scanner to the microphone input of the computer. I have the scanner locked onto a control channel here in Melbourne.
As I said when I fire up CC.bat and change the input to microphone I can see the cc being decoded perfectly and multiple voice channels coming up.
So all is good until I try and open FMP24.vc and then I get the error, no dongles found,

Hi there Chris,
would it be ok for you to post a screen print of your DSDPlus bat files.

I don't want to use the dongles, only the scanner so I want DSDPlus to operate without the dongles and no error messages when I use the scanner. I have a seperate computer that I want to run the dongles on.

Basically, the DSDPlus fastlane that you use for the scanner only is the one I was hoping that you could post me the bat files.
Thanks.

You already said that you are seeing data in the window
You said you don't want to use dongles on that setup
What more are you expecting? DSDPlus does not control the scanner and cannot create the audio without a radio and tuner (FMPx and dongle). A discriminator tapped scanner can feed the control channel stream to DSDPlus and DSDPlus shows what is being streamed. But that is it.
