DSDplus. Can I listen to a frequency without squelch to test if audio works?

Hi.

I have downloaded the "new public release" from here.
I have followed the perfect installation guide from "frugal radio" here:
I may have a problem with no audio. I understand that the new version does not require the "VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device."
Isn't it possible to listen to a specific frequency and then turn off the squelch to be sure that audio works on speakers?
For example, if I go to a frequency and press "Q" it says "SQ" in the window. If I press "Q" again, the "SQ" disappears. Shouldn't I be able to hear the sound/noise from the frequency then?
In my FMP24-CC batch file I have written: FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -P0.0 -f118.9000 -g50
And in my 1R batch file it says: DSDPlus -r1 -i20001 >>1R-log.txt

Thanks in advance for your help.

Just tune to the desired freq in Fmp.24. Do you see any signal when plane or tower is talking? (You may have to adjust gain, bandwidth and PPM). What dongle do you have?

Then in DSDPlus, make sure your speakers are selected.

To test audio to speakers, tell it "monitor source audio always". If everything is correct, you will hear static.

The initial gain should be 44-49. This is the most sensitive. Once a signal is seen the gain can be adjusted accordingly. The spike should be about 2 1/2 to 4 of the blue horizontal lines tall.
