Developed a sudden problem with the CC follower crashing. It started when it updated to 2.275. It will just close. Sometimes its a couple hours, other times its half a day.
No errors displayed. Nothing I can find explaining why its doing that. I restarted the PC since it had been running 120 days. I downgraded to 2.268. I made a new folder and moved only the necessary files for it to function. None of that has been effective in fixing it. The VC follower has never had this problem.
I ended up moving back to 2.275 since the older version didnt fix it.
I started running it from within a cmd prompt window, rather than using the batch files I'd made. That way it would show the last thing it was doing when it quit. There hasnt really been anything consistent other than right before it closes theres always garbled P25 data.

Seems to be worse with the newest version just released. I cant keep it running more than a few hours before it closes. Getting frustrated.

Something in your setup, I have DSDPlus running in computers 24/7 and haven't seen any such behavior.
What are your computer specs? processor and ram? Antivirus?

One thing I always check when I see strange behavior is if there is any updates pending in Windows 10. There are several in the last 120 days.

Yeah, it was running fine before 2.275, but I think it was a coincidence that it started doing it then because I tried going back a version and it still did it. Ive also tried making a new folder with a 'fresh' install and it still would crash.

Its a ASUS M4A88T-M with a Phenom 2 X4 970, 16GB of ram and a GTX 1050. Running Windows 7 Pro, so no updates, but I block them anyways. No antivirus. The computer isnt used for anything but watching cameras with Video Insight software and DSDPlus.

Could be a bad SDR, I had one that would randomly die after a little while, but it gradually got worse and worse until it failed entirely. What type of SDR hardware do you have? My cheap rtl dongle would give me a 'reinsert usb' error in DSDplus FMPA, and in Linux I would see a lot of usb read write errors. I've also had instances where using automatic gain control mixed with amplification on the antenna would cause major issues for the poor old chipsets on those cheap dongles, its probably honestly what might have killed the aforementioned dongle of mine. I always make it a point to run them with low to medium gain when using an amp.

Are the cameras your watching running on usb on the same pc? If so, how are they performing?

So far I havent had any issues with them in FMPA. Before after awhile they would get flakey which I think was due to getting hot. Right now Ive got them mounted to a piece of Aluminium and they run slightly above room temp now. I dont have amplification, just a gain antenna. Im reasonably close to a site so even with the loss through my ceramic filter and splitter theres plenty of signal.

They are fed over the ethernet from the recording server and they perform fine. Video Insight can offload to the GPU so thats why I have the GTX1050. The Phenom runs at its maximum clock 24/7 and about 50% loaded across all 4 cores. It wouldnt even work without the GTX in there. Maybe if I had 1 or 2 cameras but not 8.

I have my batch files for FMPA/DSD+ setup to give them realtime CPU priority. I can tell that works because I dont hear any audio glitches from the voice follower.

I guess my main problem is theres no error printed anywhere giving me any clue as to why its closing. Its like I hit 'Alt+F4' and exited out. So I dont know where to start to fix it.

Ive tried to capture crash dumps from DSDPlus with the Sysinternals tool 'Procdump'. I configure it to generate a memory dump if DSDPlus hangs or crashes. However, Procdump indicates DSDPlus is exiting normally, so no dumps are created.
So I was right that it is like Im exiting out of it. I just dont understand why its doing that. I was sitting next to this computer all day yesterday and it closed out a couple times without me doing anything to it. Just bizarre and frustrating.

I think I might have discovered the issue. I could be wrong, however, theres a theme in the event file of the last thing its logging being something like
2021/02/08 09:33:14 Group call; TG=1003 [Law 2 Data] RID=10003 [MACC] Ch=856.7625 Pri7 1s
2021/02/01 10:20:25 Group call; TG=1002 [Law 1 Dispatch] RID=10002 [MACC] Ch=859.7625 Pri7

Its Law 1 or Law 2 and its only with the Console. There seems to be some sort of misconfiguration in the consoles or controller that I noticed several months ago. The audio is being encrypted, however the encryption bit is not getting set in the channel grant. So DSDPlus thinks its a normal group call when it is in fact an encrypted group call. I never worried about it since it only occasionally resulted in split second of garbled audio from the voice follower before it realized its encrypted and clamps. Ill attempt to lock out those TGs and see if my issue goes away.

Still didnt fix it. So I ended up finding a program called 'Restart on Crash' and configured it to monitor DSD+ and run the batch files. Works perfect. Thats hiding the issue since this problem is unsolvable.
