Does anybody know if there is a way on Dsdplus fastlane to mute the data noise and just have the voice ?. I currently have to do it with "listen to device" on VB Audio. I often scan around the bands between analogue and digital signals and would like a quick way of muting the data noise when tuned to a digital signal. Im thinking there must me an easier way of my currrent way and maybe now we have options in the DSD GUI, there may be an option somewhere in there that will mute the data noise when detectng a signal ?

Select the active DSD+ Windows and press M
This toggles the Monitor Mode in 4 options
Press ? to get a list of all other soft switches.
Make sure you select the DSD+ window ! as otherwise you can end up toggling features in your other active programs!
I drove myself nuts by changing settings in SDR Uno by accident whilst switching modes in DSD+

Seems that if you are using a virtual audio cable and allow the speakers to play the contents of that stream you will hear digital noise. When you muted the "Listen to Device" in windows and it went away does the signal still play on DSDPlus? If so, when an analog signal is found does your DSDPlus not allow that signal through when you use the Menu or keyboard to monitor source audio with signal present?
It seems that you are thinking the only way you will hear the analog signals is to open the VB Audio setting to listen to this device when DSDPlus will do it for you.

Hi CG. you are correct, im using VAC into DSDPLUS . when i select "dont listen to this device", the data noise stops and voice does still come though DSDPLUS but its not allowing analogue signals through despite which option i choose in DSDplus from the menu. Yes you are right this is how ive been thinking because i cant get it to work any other way !

If there is analog coming through the VAC into DSDPlus, and m= 1|2|3|4 in DSDPlus, then you are going to hear the analog. If m=0 you aren't going to hear analog.

IF we are talking about the menu system (see screenshot):

With the first option you will NOT hear analog. With any of the other four options you WILL hear analog.

(NOTE: That is assuming there is truly analog voice coming over VB Cable.). For instance, if you select "Monitor Source Audio Always" you will hear analog, undecoded digital, noise when there is no signal, etc. (unless you have squelch enabled in your receiver).

If you choose options 2-3 in DSDPlus, you WILL hear analog if it's going over the VB Cable. If you aren't hearing it, you are doing something wrong and it has absolutely nothing to do with DSDPlus.

Thanks Mike. I suspect I am doing something wrong, just trying to figure out where!

Paste the contents of your DSDPlus start batch file and perhaps we can help with that.

I forget you are starting SDRsharp or a different tuner. How do you start DSDPlus? Something in the tuner program, via command line, or with a batch file with something like
DSDPlus -i1 -o1 etc

How do I get the menu system shown in your screenshot to appear while running DSDPlus Fastlane? Thanks

Umm, use your mouse and click? Look at the DSDPlus Event Log window. That's the screen that has the menu at the top. If you're running the latest version of DSDPlus FL, it'll be there.

You just add -m1 to your DSD+ start bat commands
