I want to start by saying that I deeply appreciate DSDPlus. This software has been an essential part of my daily life, and the $25 I spent on it is, without question, one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Currently, DSDPlus does not support displaying non-English characters in its UI. As a result, alias names transmitted over the air often appear as “Alias=????????” when they contain characters in other languages.

I completely understand this is a niche issue, and DSDPlus is already an outstanding piece of software. But given that other programs like SDRTrunk and WebRX can render these characters properly, I wonder if it might be more people being helped by adding the support for international character display in a future version.

I would suggest the following:

Supply some raw audio of the talker alias transmissions. Cleartext aliases (if known) would be helpful.

So:

1. Raw audio captures during times when talker aliases are transmitted
2. IF you happen to know what any of the cleartext aliases _should be_ for any of the RID aliases, provide those. If you do not have precise knowledge of what the real cleartext aliases are, do not guess.

If you wish to keep it private and not post it on the forums, gather that information and send it to dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com

Thank you Mike for providing such helpful guidance and support!

I am testing it my self using my own radio because I currently have no system that is constantly broadcasting any non-English Alias near by.

The raw recording is down below, and the radio Alias I used is: 海能达HP780(literally means Hytera BTW)。

Thanks Wonka. I’m sure the author will take a look at that soon and see what can be done
