DSDplus FL email

Recently received an email from DSD+ FL which stated that future releases will no longer be emailed, but instead must be downloaded from a specific site (I'm intentionally not mentioning the site, as I do not know if that is publicly allowed).

Questions:
Was this a legit email from the DSD+ team, or a fake?

Email had a link to DL. But I have NOT tried the link as I am worried it might be a fake email and the link may contain a virus or something. Has anyone else received this email?

The email is legitimate.

The email mentions the DSDPlus website -- https://www.dsdplus.com/ -- which is no secret and the correct website for the project.

yes, it's legit. i downloaded the zip file and compared the binary's with the last updated version and they are identical.
