DSDPlus monitor two sites from same network

I couldn't find an existing threat that specifically talked about this, so here's my scenario:

4 x dongles - 2 voice, 2 control.

I want to monitor the TACN system but two sites simultaneously, and with only one audio feed (ie I want to share the talkgroup priorities over the two voice dongles) as opposed to having two audio feeds.

Is this possible?

(as my best Beavis impression) "Are you threatening me?"

The Theta site is closest to Columbia. What other site are you wanting to monitor, and what software (DSD-FME, SDRTrunk, DSD+, etc...) are you using?

Whoops!

I was trying to monitor Theta and a site further afield (eg Hoovers Gap) using dsd-plus

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish. Does Hoover's Gap have the same traffic that Theta has? Are you wanting to listen to unique traffic from each site and discard talkgroups on Hoover's Gap that are identical with Theta?

This sounds like something that might be better accomplished using something like SDR Trunk. I'm not too sure you can run DSDPlus in the way you desire.

You cannot do it exactly how you want it but there are options or compromises.

You can run the two sites out of the same folder. You may hear stereo voice for the same talkgroup. Downside is that if simulcast and the timing is off just a little, it can really mess up the listening (one site may have a bit longer timing delay to get the signal to every site). Also, the priority on each talkgroup on each site cannot be different. If the same two groups are active on both sites, you will likely miss a lower priority conversation.

Workaround would be to copy all the files to a second folder and run the second site from there. This allows different priorities for each site. The downside is that you have to maintain the system in each folder, you will have to edit the radios and groups twice.

Either way, you can direct to audio from one to the left and the other to the right. That can help separate things in your brain. I don't know if the DSDPlus L/R separation works with a feed to RR or not

Yep, so say for example a TG is only active on Hoovers Gap. I want to monitor both Theta and Hoovers Gap and share the same TG priorities across both. It sounds like I can do this but would have to accept stereo sound if the same TG is active on both.

I hope you are in a shelter. There is a confirmed tornado in your area.

I will mention that it may be restricted to using the program in single receiver mode. I don't use it any other way and run 4 sites from one system out of 1 folder.
In the Notes section, there is a part about running a second instance of DSDPlus. That should be what you will need, the 1Ra.bat file info.
