dsp update help

hello i have the 500 i have put in the cpu update with no problem know the dsp is fighting me. connect cable turn scanner on set to comport 3 click test and turn scanner off and push 0 program&enter shows error on scanner and on screen.it wont hilite the update button. only the test button.can someone help me am i missing some steps. i tried this several diffrent ways with no luck ,i follwed the instrutions and i know comport is 3. can anyone help me with this im running windows vista,cant figure out the dsp update, thanks

You need to turn the scanner on then when the welcome message is up press 0, then PRG, then ENT. You can't do it with the scanner off.
