Ok let's see if i have this right. i can use DTMF to Call Hosp on Jems 2. i can also have my radio ID # setup with DTMF. or I could setup my radio ID useing MDC. Now as Far as the QC II i can set to QC II on the RX of a Freq to use that ch as a pager from dispatch. IF i put it in the TX side of the freq. i can send the page out from the handheld is this right. if it is does any one have the tones in mecer or middlesex Co. or where i can find them.

thanks, Chris

P.S. I have till the end of the year to figure it out before i return home.

In order to determine what my two-tones were for my town, I used recordings, a list of standard ones, and software called goldwave with the equation editor. Then I generated the standard ones, and played it by ear, literally, comparing the knowns to my unknown. Of course, for my own organization, I just opened up my Minitor II pager and looked at the tone reeds. :D

http://www.wpascanner.com/tones.htm <-- The "plectron paging" section applied to me; I think MR units are the same.

http://www.goldwave.com/ <-- sin(2*pi*f*t) where 'f' is the frequency in Hz works in the equation editor. I used sin(2*pi*x*t)*(step(t-.5)-step(t-1.5)) + sin(2*pi*y*t)*(step(t-1.51)-step(t-4.51)) to generate the full tone where 'x' is Tone A and 'y' is Tone B.

http://odin.prohosting.com/~thelefty/sounds/MR1_Halls_Corner.wav <-- here's MR1 heading into East Brunswick 3-25-2005 at 0538 to get you started.
