What BAUD does the DTRS use? My reason for asking is that I think I read somewhere that the 296D will not do I-CALLS on the ?9600 baud. I did check the database, but it was not indicated.

DTRS is 9600 baud and no I-calls on DTRS anyways.

I calls are Lakewood, WM, Denver, DIA etc and other Edacs systems.

Just as a FYI,

I-Call and I-TAC's are conventionl frequencies, they have nothing to do with Talkgroups on either system, Moto or GE.

I don't know what you mean be I-Call and I-TAC, but almost all trunked systems have a feature to provide individual or private calls between units.
Often the ADMINISTRATION of the system shuts the feature off to insure proper logging of traffic and to prevent excessive channel use.

Not correct. An I-Call is NOT conventional. It is indeed a feature with EDACS that is a private call from one HT to another.

Correct Jerry but I-Tac is conventional and I thinks that's where he got confused.

I-Call is EDACS private call used mainly by Denver

I-Tac are national conventional mutual aid frequencies.

Just to Clarify:

EDACS systems have an "I-Call" feature for radio to radio comms.

Moto. systems have "Private Call" for the same thing.

There is a conventional channel for inter-operability called I-call. The freq. is: 866.0125

Do you know of any moneyrola systems in Colorado that actually have "private call" turned on?

A long time ago I would hear on DTRS someone say "give me a private call," but not for a while. They probably shut it off because of a shortage of channels.

BTW, the I-call conventional channel is not used much. The idea, when the FCC came up with the inter-op channels was that you would contact someone on the I-Call channel and then switch to one of the 4 I-Tac channels for operations.

Most of the time when I hear reference to "private call" on DTRS it means a direct connect onn Nextel.

I used to listen to Aurora quite a bit, and never heard anyone say "give me a private call." Same with Wheatridge.

Ok, I wasn't aware that EDACS had a thing called I-Call that was somewhat along the lines of a Private call.

On all the radio's I have ever serviced they all have an I-Call channel that is conventional. Used for when something with multipule agency's is going on for each agency to Call up on. Example: "Resources this is Engine 745 on I-Call, Where would you like us to stage?"..."Engine 745 stage at ____ and contact Command on I-TAC 3 for your assignment."

Hope this clears up where I was coming from.

The Colorado Springs Utilities uses Private Call every once and a while. It is operating on their system.
