DTRS Groups Geographically Isolated?

Hi everyone,

Are some or all TGs on the statewide DTRS limited geographically somehow (or better said, are TGs limited to certain sites)? I programmed all the Larimer County (Ft. Collins, etc.) groups into my PRO-2096, but I'm monitoring waaaay south of there in Aurora and don't hear any of them all. FWIW, the strongest DTRS site at my location is Smoky Hill #107.

DTRS is technically a smartzone system. Read the following wiki entry (specifically the second to last paragraph regarding talk groups) and it should clear things up a bit for you on how the system operates.
