Because I know just a wee tad more than the vast amount of public knowledge that is available in the FCC filings. Besides, once you are done with constructing a wide area coverage system like this, the next logical step is drive testing. This would be true with any multi-million-dollar system that is constructed no matter what the technology or location. Since most of the P25 sites are built in parallel with Duke's 900 MHz SmartZone sites, it would be safe to say that coverage would be comparable but it has to be proven.

Filiings and PDF Documents about buildout mean little to nothing half the time. Kentucky Utilities/Louisville Gas & Electric are behind scheduled buildout times due to a vast majority of reasons.

The dealer deploying the Duke System system have multiple offices throughout the Southeast USA. A good amount of the time they are behind schedule by a few months for everything including small systems of all varieties.

I dont monitor the system nor have any desire to but its not all cut and dry like these "Filings" state.

I don't think anybody is suggesting that we should rely totally on filings. However, the construction notifications and buildout plans certainly do help. And if people were to have ignored them for Duke / AEP, there wouldn't be any entries at all in the database for Duke P25 or AEP P25. So there is absolute value in reading all of the FCC filings, even if the timeframes for buildout that may be indicated can be delayed for various reasons.

I think the savvy users out there monitoring for Duke (and AEP) P25 activity are more on top of it than you'd like to think.

In the cases of both FPL and Duke in FLORIDA - the FCC filings are pretty much spot on - to their credit I don't recall offhand a single filing that's patently wrong. I think (my .02) that commercial entities like these are much more careful about building out in accordance with their filings than for instance a government entity ... cough "SLERS"...

I may not be savvy but I am in a Hilton this evening.

I did get lots of sites on the trip. I couldn’t get 1 cause of the location I didn’t want to waste up to 2 hours to get there and turn around and sit somewhere. I don’t have net to submit info yet. I’ll try to update the info when I find a WiFi in town.

Keep in mind, P252Data file is the best info you can submit, even if you just want to submit that part of it that has to do with Duke. No need to go overboard on "massaging" it to look nice to the naked eye. It's so easy to transfer from a submission into the DB with a simple copy and paste the way it is.

My plan is to find a wife and copy amd paste the data for submit. I have to look at the data file see what’s missing info.

I just dropped a update on FL side and got more sites and NL and other info needed. I was able to not to get close to some sites thank goodness I would have lost about 2 hours of time on the road. I have to do the other 2 sites when I go back east since they were further south than I thought on 1 site which is not listed on the update.
