• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi Guys

I've Duplexer Filter DPF 2/6-150 procom
the big one and I want to mount the it inside my 18U rack but the rack doesn't fit the duplexer due to it's big size and Procom doesn't have mounting kit for that model...

Any idea with boxes of how to mount the duplexer inside the rack or any special box to keep the duplexer in outside is good enough as well.

For the large cavities, I have just seen them mounted horizontally down the back side of the rack.

As mentioned by Merlin for alternative mounting options; is this rack limited by space behind it? Do you happen to have 21-22" of vertical space on the backside of your 18u rack? unless you are using all 18U of full depth rack mounted gear you can engineer a mount to hold it vertical. the other option is to get a 1U 4post or 2U 2 post shelf (ventilated preferably), and secure the DPF to the shelf with the connections facing the backside of the shelf/rack. It isnt perfect, but it would support your duplexer.

Thank your for your reply...

There is a space on the backside of the rack but as I said I will install 3x SLR8000 repeater and there will no be enough space to mount the DPF...But I prefer your second option as well.

In addition, If its ok to mount the DPF vertically I believe there is enough space in the left, right side of the rack and it will be good place for them.

I don't see anything about your models that explicitly states it has to be horizontally mounted. Granted, my UHF setup is a wee bit different , they are the same in theory.

i understand what you have. i am saying i havent read anything in the spec sheet or owners manual for the DPF 2/6-150 unit that says horizontally mounted only. as long as it doesn't get beat up or bounced around after initial tuning (and post install tweaking) i dont see any difference between the filter(s) being mounted horizontally or vertically.

I was not sure about that... That's why I wanted to ask you guys to have an idea if its possible and it will not damage my DPF

edited comment above.

contact amphenol procom tech support monday when they open. most RF product company tech support are quick to answer the phone and pleasant to speak to. RXTX, Commscope/Andrew, and Sinclair have all been decent to work with (at least in my experiences).
