Duplin County Updates

Good Afternoon All

In my quest to update all of eastern NC on the RR.com home page, I have found some interesting things.

Duplin County has migrated all of the communications issues to their communications office. As a result of this, the Sheriffs office has lost their tac 2 and 3 channels. I will attach a copy of the petition filed with the FCC which they apparently just laughed at. I will update this periodically with the changes, first round will be submitted today!!

Was the entire operation of the comm center under the sheriff's control or just the licensing?

According to the correspondance, it appears that each individual agency was respnsible for their own licencing and comm matters. Now it is consolidated into one central office.

The reason I asked is that here in Catawba County communications used to be under the sheriff. 4 or 5 years ago, it got separated out.
