Just heard one of the fire depts a few minutes ago, during their radio checks, say that truck XYZ is on the Harris system. That was on my 15X in the car on the non-P25 system. My 996XT was searching the NextGen system at the same time but picked nothing up. Clearly there's a patch in place, though.

Durham fire is going to be in the clear for the next year via simulcast on old system.the union representing the fire dept. isnt happy about the performance of the new system.i guess the bugs havnt been worked out as of yet.

Fire Seems Active

Looks like fire may have switched over.

Hearing fire dispatch in the clear but units responding to dispatch are encrypted. Several talk groups active with dispatches being heard on 19200 to 19204. Fireground talk on 19214 and 19216.

I was told the same thing you were told.. so who knows may be temp. I did notice I got no traffic Tuesday night..
i was receiving them Sunday and Monday nights at work,so it must of happened sometime Tuesday.one thing i will comment on is that the reception from a voice transmission from inside a building has been terrible, which begs me to ask if the bugs havnt been worked out,why switchover?

That will explain why I am getting the talk group to show, but no voice.

Is it possible for someone in the admin group to change to talk groups that are in the clear to " T " from " D' " ? If TDMA is being used on the system I think it the web page should say that.

Thanks

database for Nextgen already states that you need a Phase 2 capable scanner to monitor.
Actually, it says "Some talkgroups on this system are using Project 25 Phase II TDMA modulation..." The confusion lies in the word "Some." If it is indeed only some, then those channels should be marked T. If it's the whole system, then the wording needs to be changed AND the channels should be marked T. That would prevent apps like FreeScan from downloading TDMA channels to an incompatible scanner, I think.

If a resident of the Region who monitors this system could identify the "T" talkgroups, we could then make the appropriate changes to the database.
