Only thing that worries me is losing memory after so many entries.

I take it I should change the 9 volt every 6 months or so and have it plugged in when swapping batteries to avoid memory loss.

I've had the same battery for years and never lost anything. Never even had a low battery warning. Unless you leave it unplugged often, I wouldn't worry about changing the battery frequently,

Here's my modded 2006 - did most of the mods in an external box as I was a bit skittish about drilling my front panel.

I sold it about 13 years ago and have regretted it since.

The information on that extra box is something you would like to see on every scanner. And on the Pro-2006 the delay should be modified to a 5 second hold.
