Seems Dutchess County 911 PD channel 155.415 is not being used at the moment, 151.205 the back up is being used and is patched to the NYCOMCO EDACS channel 03-091 (457).

Anyone know what's going on with 155.415? I always thought 151.205 would be a different channel patched to a different talkgroup ID.

151.205 shows dcs 632 here. The Illinois EDACS tower repeats 151.205.

Just wondering out loud here...

Gentlemen,

In light of the recent history between the NY State Police Troop L (155.460) and the (NJ) Palisades Interstate Parkway Police (155.4525R, 265), I'm left wondering if the interference to and from Tuxedo Police's repeater output (155.4225, 146.2) finally forced Dutchess to do something about 155.415 - either they're in the process of converting it to narrowband or they've switch off of it completely (like how SP Troop L gave up on .460). I'm curious myself to hear what's up behind this latest news.

It's because of the new simulcast system............

John - All,

Apparently they switched to the alternate 911 PD frequency so they can begin work on the new simulcast system. I was not aware that the PD dispatch would be simulcasted along with the fire dispatch but apparently they are both going to be simulcast..... Once the simulcast system is completed (Supposedly mid September now) the PD dispatch will return to 155.415........ That's what I've been told......

I'm hearing them back on 155.415R today.

I take that back - hearing them on 151.205R again.

Are the input PL's for each tower the same on 151.205 as they are on 155.415? I see 205 is using DPL instead of PL.

Yesterday, I began hearing Dutchess 911 back on its main frequency of 155.415 but I could receive the field units. Anyone know of any frequency and/or pl changes that took effect during the radio changeover?

The previous report that Dutchess County had changed their 9-1-1 Polling frequency was incomplete. When you hear a "new" use for a frequency, please try to find out if it is permanent or temporary before reporting it. Dutchess was temporarily using the backup channel while system work was being done. The frequency configuration has since returned to normal.

I hear Dutchess 911 polling on my scanner with the squelch open but when I input the following frequencies of 155.4150 pl 107.2 and Illinois tower, on 158.970 with a pl 0f 82.5, I get zilch. These are primary frequencies that were being used prior to the upgrade and the tag states that "the frequency configuration has since returned to normal. BTW I get nothing on the B/U 911 frequency of 151.205. Any Ideas, if I am doing something wrong or did they change the PL's?

The correct frequency is 155.415 and yes, the new DCS is 654. Does anyone know if they are still using the same input PL's on 158.970 or did they switch to DCS there as well?

Also, did anyone grab any PL's on 159.360, the input to the back up 911 151.205 DCS 632? I'm trying to confirm what towers they have up on that channel as well. I was told just Illinois and Clove compared to Illinois, Clove, Dover and Silver in 155.415.

The inputs to both 151.205 and 155.415 are DCS. I logged DCS 371 on the input to 155.415 from a car in the Rhinebeck area. Mobile reception is tough here and they don't announce what tower they are using. 155.415 sounds awful here - I'm guessing it is simulcast now.

Thanks Pro...I was thinking the upgrade may have been to voting with simulcast on 155.415. Can anyone else log some PL's/DPL's and see if they are all the same from different areas.

Is Fire Dispatch 1 now simulcasted ?

I haven't heard the official word yet, but it appears that the simulcast on Fire Dispatch is up and running, at least on some towers. As of yesterday dispatches that are usually made off of Silver (ie Millerton FD, Pine Plains FD, etc.) were loud and clear in the Poughkeepsie area. Silver was usually quite scratchy at best in the west central part of the county.

Also just a note that 46.3600 is only working from Clove tower now. This is the only tower that will run the Low Band until it is finally discontinued. At least that's the plan but there is a lot of complaints about the UHF coverage from the eastern side of the county (pagers not opening, dead spots, etc.). The simulcast may help address the pager issue, but only time will tell.

Thanks nozzle....are they going to stay with talk-back voting on Response 2 and Command 3 or are there plans for voted/simulcast on those frequencies as well? I must say, the DC 911 Polling channel sounds great over in Orange County.

The plan is for simulcast on Dispatch only. All others are to remain the same.

DC911 Polling sounds good up here in Columbia too!

Guess I'm in the wrong location here in Ulster as DC 911 sounds really bad at my house. I'm getting heavy phasing interference from two or more towers. Since the channel is simulcast I assume the input of DCS 371 is used throughout the county. I've done more monitoring and have never logged another DCS code on the mobile side.
