I have a new Pro-106 that I want to put to use and TRY to program and I'm reading all about the system/s that Dutchess County uses.

To start off I want to try to program in DCSO which shows in the database that it uses EDACS, but I don't see information that I think I need to program it like I see here: Dutchess & Ulster County Frequencies. Specifically the numbered frequencies and talk groups numbers.

Is the Dutchess County Database here up to date with ALL the information I need?
Yes, I can punch in frequencies I see listed in the database here, but I don't think I'm doing it right with regards to Trunking and Repeaters.

Anyone here using the Pro-106 in DC and willing to help me out, or start me off with the basics?

Take a look at the links (always blue) found in the following wiki article. They will get you started in how to use the 106 correctly. Note that the PRO-106 is the same as the GRE PSR-500, just in a different box. Therefore anything written for the 500 will also work with your 106. Notice that there are article links for teaching you about trunking there, too....

The information in the frequency list in your post is way out of date. The Radio Reference listings are the best available. For instance, the DCSO frequencies below are copied from Radio Reference. They are the primary DCSO frequencies. As 62truck says, there is very little DCSO activity on EDACS.

I really appreciate the VERY quick responses from everyone here, thanks!

62Truck: I did not find that page here regarding EDACS for NY-Orange NY-Ulster NY-Dutchess, which is what I was looking for. When I clicked Dutchess County on the map I should have also clicked on NYCOMCO (EDACS) link at the top, thanks.

What I'm hearing from you guys is that there is very little DCSO activity on EDACS.... is that true for most of the other agencies/services in Dutchess, Orange and Ulster?

Will the my new (but old) PRO-106 handle most of what Dutchess, Orange, Ulster agencies/services use?

I was able to setup Trunking for the first time and I used the closest Relay Tower to me (Mount Beacon). I entered the Frequencies in order (skipping over 05 and 06). Are 5 and 6 not listed for a reason... not used or not found??

Interesting... need to do more searches before posting, sorry.

Ok, I read all about LCN and read the following thread:

When setting up the frequency list on my Pro-106 (or any other trunking scanner), do I skip over the 5 & 6 slots (like I did) or should I be dropping 7 to 5, 8 to 6 and 9 to 7 ?

Just skip over
