DV1 backlight color awful orange

Has anyone modified the backlight color to white & adjusted the far too bright level. Ok, are the backlight led's orange & need changing for white versions.
Read somewhere that a resistor was added to limit the backlight LED voltage, that seems fair enough.

I have not inspected the display on my DV1, but generally on small screens the backlight LED's and light guide plate/diffuser are part of the screen assembly. On the DV1 the screen may have been optimised for amber backlighting. I am not sure if it would be possible to change the LED's and how well it would work for different colours.

Thanks for reply,will investigate further, find the Whistler displays are easier to read. White with black text.I see the DV3 does that among other colors.
