Got an American Electrola DXC-100 off eBay. I always
wanted one in my collection. Only 2000 made
I have #1278. It had a couple faults one being the COMOS battery was spent. You can see the new green battery I installed.

These radios were made in1993 in the USA 🇺🇲. The other issue was the radio was off frequency and just needed a little tweak of one of the oscillator pots.

Other than that the radio is in like new condition. Sensitivity is good on shortwave but not a DX machine. I bought it mostly
for its history.

Also here is a mod I did. The first 1000 of these radios came with a built in loop antenna for the MW band. The second
batch of 1000 radios came with an external loop antenna that
most people lost or misplaced long ago.

So I took a loop antenna out of a parts donor home stereo
and used a little hot glue to tack it in so the mod is reversible.
The MW band for this radio is happy now.

I had one for a brief time, don't remember if it was an earlier or later version. It certainly isn't a great performer which is why I moved it along. As part of a collection it definitely has a place, they are only a limited number around.
