Someone around here should probably help rather than being rude. I may not be able to give you exact answers but I will answer them with a little info to help you out.
AF -> These are affiliations. What these will show is when one of the radios change to a new talkgroup. It basically means that they changed their radio channel .. and the detail log area shows this.
Delay - this will allow the information on the top of the screen to be retained for about 2 seconds after the transmission has ended. It will be shown in a darker green color after the transmission has ended. I personally leave this option off ..
Verbose - well the only thing I have seen that this does is show the callers (transmitting radio) information on the right side of the screen.
Seeknew .... i really dont know what this does as I have never used it.
FrmInd -- this is the frame indicator. If you look on the top line of the screen (close to the middle) it will show that you are receiving the control channel and it is decoding the information. I always leave this on .. just so I know the program is working. You should always leave your scanner in 'scan' mode to make sure that it follows the control channel should it change. The spinning of this indicator means that the program is decoding properly.
Threshold - this is the threshold for a second connected scanner. This would be the scanner that is providing the audio from the system being monitored. The threshold will limit the audio being heard from this second scanner. Anything with a priority equal or less than the threshold will be heard otherwise it will be ignored.
Hope this helped a little ... etrunker is a great program.
seekNew mode: snaps new users to highest priority for rapid identification ('n' key.)
The information is in the Trunker docs and applies to Etrunk as well. You can open the Trunker document and use EDIT - FIND to search key words.
It always seemed odd to me that the docs for these DOS programs are HTML which is not natively viewable in DOS. However by installing Arachne it is possible to view HTML in DOS. The attached files have been modified to display in Arachne with an 800 x 600 screen. No information has been changed, just the formatting for display purposes.
David,
Well I didn't have a doc for E-Trunker so excuse me. No need to be rude about it, I'm just looking for some help on here. Thanks Kevin and pro92b for the info. take care.
Wasting time? This is a freaking forum! There's nothing rude about asking questions in a place designated to serve discussion on a topic. At least it was a relevant question in a relevant forum. If you don't want to answer or follow a thread, why bother responding at all? Who is wasting time here?
You know something? Why don't YOU go read a manual!! When I was new with trunker I needed a lot of help, even AFTER reading the docs. Maybe this guy didn't know what an affiliation was in the first place. Maybe he doesn't know MA/COM calls it a login rather than an affiliation.
Anyway, if all we did around here was tell people to go RTFM, what would be the point to having the forum? It's not a waste of time!
