If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Greetings:

I just bought a cheap pair of JLAB wireless earbuds for my G5.

They're working just fine, but I'm slightly bothered by the courtesy beep that precedes and follows every transmission, especially the short ones.

Is there any way to turn off those beeps?

Thanks in advance.

I'm on Tab D-8.

I'm not receiving the courtesy beeps when I'm listening directly to the G5 speaker. That only happens with the earbuds.

What do I need to adjust?

Ohhh . . . I think I need to disable the "BT Headset Incoming Call Notification"?

It is at the bottom of post #2
Hello, RaleighGuy.

I turned off the notification beep that precedes a transmission and found out I still have a notification beep at the end of a transmission.

I'm almost certain has a Unication has a setting that will disable that, but the more I listen to it, the less it bothers me. I'm accustomed to courtesy beeps at the end of transmissions.

Thanks for your help!

Do you by chance have the earphones also paired with another device while listening to them with the Unication?

I was getting beeps and realized my phone was also connected to the earphones. Turned off Bluetooth on my phone and the beeps went away.

Hello, cubn.

No, I've paired the earphones with two radios, an Icom R30 and the Unication G5, but I always make certain to disconnect them and turn off Bluetooth on the radios when I've stopped listening to either one.

The beeps were coming from a Unication PPS feature that notifies you of incoming and completed transmissions. RaleighGuy told me where to find and deactivate the feature. I went ahead and deactivated the incoming beep, and although I'm sure there's a way deactivating the completed transmission beep, I decided to leave that one alone for the time being.

Thanks for your interest!
