Earphone adapters

Are there any earphone to microphone adapters available? I'd like to hook my scanner up to my computer to record transmissions when I am not available to listen to them.

my guess without trying, but some sound industry knowledge would be to find a mono cable with one end matching the 1/8" plug on your soundcard mic input, and the other end matching your scanner headphone output (uniden uses 1/8").

KEEP THE VOLUME OF THE SCANNER LOW!!!

Open up your recording software, and adjust the levels for optimal recording and let it go....
