okay. so i have the uniden bct-8. also have the uniden software. however, not able to use that with radioreference. so first off, are there any files to download that i can open with the uniden software and then just click send data and be done with it.

another thing is there are 5 banks on here. lets say i just have a few trunked freq and/or talk groups (still not even 5% sure how this works.) i want to enter. will i still be able to listen to the conventional frequencies on that bank?

im in l.a county. san dimas to be exact. for some reason i have always kind of told myslef that well...i guess im only able to listen to l.a county. thats not the case....right? no. looking at la county database of frequencies compared to san bernardino or riverside. it just seems to be a completely different way of scanning.

I would like to get started entering some san bernardino county sheriff and riveriside sheriff frequencies. ones i would pick up at least.

any ideas, thoughts or help other then saying go read the basics on trunking would be much appreciated. thanks!

The only thing you need to do to receive a trunked system is to program it in properly to the scanner.

You said that you wanted to listen to Riverside County Trunked system.

You need to create a new system that is EDACS Standard or Wide.
Then you enter in the frequencies with each unique LCN:
West

01 866.2125
02 866.2625
03 866.7125
04 866.7625
05 867.2125
06 867.7125
07 868.2125
08 867.2625
09 868.2625
10 868.7125
11 867.7875
12 868.7875

The first two digits are the LCN number and the next set of digits is the frequency you need to enter.

At this point you can upload the system to the scanner and when the scanner is scanning the trunked system turn on ID Search mode. You can lockout &/or store any talk groups you wish while monitoring the system.

- I Select this in the software or on the scanner itself?

Riverside EDACS programming ?

I'm here in Moreno Valley & I use the Pro 164. It took me about 2 weeks to finally learn to program manually, EDACS, that is. I still can't figure out Motorola II. I put in the frequencies in LCN order as RR recommended. There's a funny thing going on. The control channel is 868.7125 (LCN10) when i put it on LCN11, (867.7875) again this pops up, "CTL-02" so why isn't this on LCN 2? there's 2 cc in MoVal frequencies. LCN 1 & 12 don't get nothing so I lock them. I also don't use LCN 11 because of the 2 cc thing. I know there's something missing here(like the correct LCN order) I also use WIN300, 2 thumbs down. It's better manually. I'll tell you more as soon as i get Sn Bdno. figured out.

From San Dimas, San Berdo system 9 should work well.

San Bernardino, County of (Public Safety) 09 Trunking System, Ontario, California - Scanner Frequencies This one ????

Figuring this all out is confusing. for me it's mainly due to wanting to know the right info. recently i have been trying to put together a list of what l.a. county cities have their own police and fire department, but also contract out to sheriff's. this is confusing being that not only are their cities. but cdp's, communities, incorporated, unincorporated, islands. yeah...islands. that's a new one for me. even info taken from lacounty.gov does not seem to be 100% right.

Check out those documents.

Now back to trunking and san bedro system 9. how many frequencies would i be adding to my scanner. this is if i want all of fire and police for system 9. are these the freq below?
