I recently noticed an update to the database for this system for TG 5304655 and TG 5304656 as Wappingers Central School District Buses.

Then, I realized that Wappingers Central School District and their buses were on the NYCOMCO System already with TGs of 19000, 19001, and 19002. 1651617447118.png
I can receive the East Mtn system with DSD+ off of site 1.6 Beekman, and NYCOMCO off of site 15 Mahopac. While the signal to the East Mtn system is not that strong from my location im still getting a good decode. Ive heard activity for the past few days on both systems for the school and their busses. but I was wondering if anyone else in the area of the East Mtn System could maybe tune in and have a listen to see if it is actually Wapp CSD Talking on the above TGs and help verify? Is it also possible that they could be operating on both systems?

I have listened to the talkgroups on the East Mtn from the Cronomer Hill Site. Based on bus numbers and radio traffic and seeing Hytera radios installed in some of the busses.

It could be possible they are demoing radios, or switching and some of the installs aren't complete yet. WCSD has for the most part has been an A1 customer. Prior to the busses going to TRBO/DMR they used to be VHF analog simplex, and A1 did the radios. When the busses went to NYCOMCO the rest of the schools remained A1/East Mtn customers.

Just my 2 cents.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but the last time I listened to EMC (two months +), they have talker alias turned on which, if I recall correctly, provided not only the portable's alias but also the channel. I was listening on a OpenGD77. I vaguely recall seeing WCSD on it.

Can you tell me what scanners would work?
Uniden BCD436 or 536 with DMR option will work fine if you don't also need P25 simulcast. If P25 is also needed then SDS100 or 200 with DMR option. Whistler scanners with DMR will also sort of work but they don't really track DMR systems properly.

Can I listen online or do I need a scanner?

I was Listening with DSD +, but now I'm primary listening on my SDS100.

On Uniden, it's a pain in the ass to get the activation keys set up on their website. But when I purchased, it I just added it to my cart when checking out on Bearacat Warehouse and it came with the unit, no hassle.

"That is not a scanner" was a good reply. It is a 2-way radio that requires a Part 90 license and, even if licensed, it will only operate on a conventional system. It has no trunking capability.

It is not compatible with DMR trunking even in a receive only mode.

Circling back to this. What is everyone monitoring with?

Im monitoring this system with my SDS 200 and DSD+. But can not get any audio from either side, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

On the DSD side:
- All Channel IDs are Defined along with the frequencies in the .frequencies file
- all other .DSD Files are Filled out
- Group Calls are highlighted Green when activity Shows in both windows

On the SDS 200 Side:
- All LCNs/Channel IDs are set to 0
- System is set to ID Search
- Firmware is I think up to date 1.10.08

Having all LCN set to 0 in the SDS is not going to work. The scanner needs the LCN values for each frequency. The ones in the database should be correct, they were recently verified, but you can also run LCN Finder on the scanner to be sure. Oh and when looking at the RRDB, for Uniden scanners you want the values in the LCN column, not the CH ID column. The CH ID is what you should have in the DSD+ frequencies file.

I imputed the LCN values for each frequency and it doesn't seem to change anything. LCN Finder does seem to work also. It's a Hytera system, I don't know if it was mentioned before.
