I notice some activity on the Morton twr and have run across the following TG ID.

9367, 12896, 10848, 57952, 8768, 8784 and 8816

Has anyone heard Prescot yet ? I live near Kingston and would have expected to have heard it by now.

some info needed

Sprint,
Sorry this isn't really inregards to your post but I live near Kingston too and need the talk group id's for the OPP. Actually any info you could pass along would be great. If I find some info for you I'll be sure to pass it along.

Fleetnet East - Sound Quality ?

I'm using a bc796d on the Fenelon Tower.
Seeing IDs 8832 (Haliburton/Peterborough) and 8784 (Kawartha/Cobourg)

The audio is very crackly sounding. I've tried the Sound Quality setting but can't seem to find a real good spot.
Currently set at: 0958 2085 3290

The adjustment is quite course - 100 number steps.
Wonder if there is a fine-tuning setting?

I have good signal strength, usually 3 bars.
I'm currently set as NFM, have tried FM as well.

Qemmons,

check the trunking data base here and you will see all TG ID based on your location. I can hear Morton, Harrow and Demorestville.

I am still looking to know if the Prescot twr is active yet.

Meanwhile, downstream...

I took a drive over to Cornwall today. There was a definite control channel on 142.2600 but I didn't hear any digital voice despite searching with two scanners at the same time. I even caught the system ID, 822F. I did hear one dispatcher ask one unit if he had his "new portable" with him.

However, it appears the old towers were still in use. I caught voice traffic on 141.195 and 141.390 and heard OPP's characteristic beeping on 141.560. (freqs may be off slightly as the signal off the towers was very strong.)

All The Best,
Jim

I cannot usually hear Cornwall but a few days ago due to enhanced propogation in the early morning, I was able to copy the CC on 142.260. There is no voice activity yet except possibly occasional testing (that is how I found the Kinburn VC's last fall). The same for Winchester, Ottawa, and Alfred.

Without the help of Treport or Trunker software, finding voice channels is hit and miss at best. There are several Hydro-Quebec sites bordering eastern Ont., to confuse the matter (e.g. 142.275 CC can be heard around Hawkesbury, plus several VC's).

I've enquired before about others in Ottawa and to the east who could help out, but have drawn a blank. I have trouble believing there are not more people with this capability. For the meantime, people will have to be satisfied with whatever info they get, or can find themselves.

Just a couple of other things I should mention. The other morning I could hear the Prescott CC on 142.800, but didn't see any voice activity. The time of day and interval doesn't make it certain that there is no activity at other times.

Also, there is voice channel activity on the Kinburn site (which is technically inside of the expanded City of Ottawa) using TG 8800 (550 hex). OPP does limited service in Ottawa such as 416/417 highways, but I think the calls are for parts of Lanark (Almonte, Carleton Place). With no digital capability (and not in a hurry to get it), it's only a guess.

I can confirm that Prescott is on the air. And I'm almost sure I monitored digital voice traffic off the site as well.
