Good Morning

I travel semi-routinely along US13 on the eastern shore. Looking here at Radio Reference Database, I only see the Eastern Shore 911 comission for frequencies. Is it safe to assume that VASP in the eastern shore is Chesapeake division? Also what do the local sheriffs use in that area (Accomack and I do not know the other county)! How active is the CBBT also, I have one freq but I figure that they are quiet anyways...

Any help is appreciated!

The Fire departments only use low band for fire siren activation. The dispatch channel for ESVA fire/ems is 155.22 and the main ops channel is 154.22.

Actually Brian I think your only half right... Dispatch for Fire/EMS is on 155.220, EMS ops are usually on 155.220, but fire ops depend on which area the fire op happens in...For example, I believe the north accomac co stations use Tac 5 I think it is, cause that is what is patched into our radio system here in Worcester Co... I don't know which freq it is, but I do know it's the city wide freq for FDNY...we here them constantly on it, cause our programmers for the VHF radio did not put a pl tone on it and it's a hard patch to our radio system... I don't know what the break down is for the op's talk groups.. but in my opinion the system is set up horrible for scanner listeners... here in Pocomoke, right near the state line, I only hear communications from the 911 center, and barely ever from the units... they appearantly don't use any kind of repeater I guess.

Chris, I can barely pick up VA Eastern Shore on my scanner in Hurlock on a regular basis. However, in the summer when skip is good I pick them up loud and strong. It seems to me they use 155.22 for most routine calls. 154.22 seems to be used for an alternate TAC channel and simulcast for the voice side of 155.22 not for tone activation. I have heard them switch to 154.43 (the same frequency as FDNY) for larger emergencies from time to time. I know the owner of Delmarva Two Way Radio and he says they are installing a VHF tower on Tangier for the fire departments to improve reception of the dispatch channel.

Here is the breakdown on their fire channels:
155.2200 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F1
155.3550 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F2
154.2200 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F3
154.4300 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F4
154.4450 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F5
154.2500 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F6
154.2800 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F7
155.2050 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F8
155.4000 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F9
155.3400 ACCOMACK/NORTHHAMPTON FIRE/EMS - F10
