Saturday night, approx 9:30, or perhaps a little later.
Unit I-10 calls in routine traffic stop, eastbound Rt 50 near Easton airport. Within minutes he is on-air again, this time reporting a 10-10 (fight), then, rather more urgently, that he is being assaulted.
Dispatch requests all "available units" respond to assist I-10.
I-10 calls again that he has just been pepper-sprayed, this time with definite sounds of a struggle in progress.
Dispatch sends "all late-shift units" to scene, requests backup from Easton PD, and calls 10-3 on the channel. By now, most area law enforcement sound like they are on their way.
The first MSP backup unit responding to help I-10 call that he just got pepper-sprayed too. All hell breaks loose...
In the resulting adrenaline-rush, I-51 calls to report that he just 10-50'd his car and is now upside down in a ditch...
Finally, after a few more minutes of calls from responding units, they secure the "extremely violent" 10-95 and lock him up in a caged vehicle for transport to Easton Memorial hospital. County paramedics assist the two injured troopers - one with a bite to his pinkie finger and facial bruising, and the other with lower back pain from the car rollover.
In the aftermath, there were apparently two witnesses (possibly from the same vehicle?) who assisted in subduing the attacker, and also mention of charges involving a 10-32 (gun).
Dispatch finally lifts the 10-3 somewhere around 10:20pm.
