I have been searching the web for fed freq's compatible with Freescans Easygrab and cannot find anything with the proper format. RR's list is great, but I know that the there are a lot of freq's it does not contain. If anybody knows where I can find a good comprehensive properly formatted list please let me know, or, if you have such a list, would you perhaps be willing to send it to me? Thanks in advance, John.

John, I live straight across the state on the east coast. If you lived over here I would hook you up with a killer list that would have just about EVERYTHING! In fact, I might even have some Tampa stuff that I have logged during band openings, but that would not be a complete list. Every area is different, and the east coast and west coast are divided with many agencies. I do not know anyone over there doing any searching on the fed bands. We NEED someone to do that and post the results! You could be the one. Too many people just want the fruits without doing the labor...if you know what I mean.

The best thing to do is start your own database. Check all the RR Wiki links along with the MT Fed Files at http://mt-fedfiles.blogspot.com/ and start loading the common national freqs into your scanner. Then make some search ranges for the fed bands and search them looking for PL/DPL/and NAC codes if you have digital. This info is VERY important as it can aid in identification. Take careful notes in your database and try not to jump to conclusions too quickly. Post your results and I bet I can identify some of what you are picking up. There are national patterns and local practices, so it is sometimes easy and other times hard.

Good luck!

PS - What scanner do you have?

Wow, sounds like an interesting proposition.

Thanks for the quick reply, Phil. I am expecting a 396xt on Monday and it will take a few days to figure it out to the point where I'd feel ready to do it, but sounds like something I'd be interested in. I swear I saw lists on the web in the past that contained most if not all of the various gov freq's that was formatted so Easygrab could accept it, but cannot find them now. Oh well, I'll continue the search.

No problem...and congrats on the new scanner. I do not know what "Easygrab" is. If you had a new GRE scanner and Win500 I would send you my well formatted file, but it will not work with the Uniden. :(

I would bet I'm listening to most of the freqs over there that "really matter". I have been putting everything worth anything into my scan list when I find it. I hear Tampa often enough I bet I have all of the "good stuff". :D

Easy Grab is the function of Freescan where you can program freq's into scanner directly from the web, if they are in a order which makes sense to the program. Frequency, TGID, Tone , comment, ect.
